Board Chair

Rita Abamah

Rita Abamah serves as the Board Chair of ASIGE, bringing over two decades of experience in education, gender advocacy, and social development. She holds both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.

A dedicated champion for girls’ education and women’s empowerment, Rita has worked extensively across education, health, and community development sectors. She currently serves as the Girl Child Coordinator for the Bongo District under the Ghana Education Service, where she leads initiatives to keep girls in school, prevent early marriage, and promote reproductive health education.

At ASIGE, Rita provides strategic guidance, governance, and oversight, helping ensure that the organisation stays aligned with its mission to create dignified livelihoods and opportunities for women and girls in rural communities. Her leadership is grounded in compassion, community connection, and a steadfast belief in the transformative power of education.

When girls are educated, communities thrive. I stand with ASIGE to make that vision a reality.
